Funeral of Sheridan Township Resident Held Wednesday Afternoon.
At her home in Sheridan township Sunday, May 11th occurred the death of Mrs. Mary Tower at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 12 days.
Mary F. Madden was born in York State September 29th, 1845. She was united in marriage to Theodore L. Tower July 3rd, 1868. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter, the latter, Myrtle A. Kenny, having passed from this life January 27th, 1907. The three surviving sons, are Emry Tower, of Cedar Grove, La.; Evin Tower, of Marion; and Elmer Tower, of Clare. Her husband also proceeded her in death June 22nd, 1919. She is also survived by three brothers, Charlie Henry and Leroy Hadden, of Byron Center, together with fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Relatives from out of town who were present at the funeral were Mrs. Nina Hunt, Mrs. Neva Cohn, who are nieces, and their husbands, George E. Kenny. Jr., grandson, of Fruitport, Mich. Almost all of the grandchildren were present.
The funeral was held from the Eagle church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. F. Bates officiating and the remains laid to rest in Cherry Grove cemetery.
