Charles Milton Hobbs, son of John T. & Ellen Chase Hobbs, was born in Davis county, now Geary county, Kansas on June 9, 1875. He was the oldest of eight children.

When Charles was about seven, he and his family moved to Willowdale township, Dickinson county, Kansas. While here he met and married Margaret Anne Dobson on November 22, 1899. They had three children: Maimie Bell (1903-1927), Helen Elizabeth (1911-1911) and Margaret Aileen (1913-1994). Sometime after the birth of their first daughter and before the birth of their second daughter, Charles and family moved to Tacoma, Washington.

Charles's wife, Maggie, passed away on July 16, 1940.

On April 12, 1942 he remarried to Mabel Margaret Reasoner, born on September 9, 1893 in Lincoln county, WA. She passed away on September 22, 1959 in Tacoma, WA.

During his life Charles was a farmer, carpenter (house & ship), contractor and operated a hardware store.

On April 30, 1960 Charles passed away in Tacoma, Washington and is buried in Tacoma Cemetery, Pierce county, Washington.
