Husband of Mary Preston Decker and son of Harry and Esther Kibbler Decker.

James A. Decker, of Hinsdale, NY formerly of Franklinville, died October 15, 2014 at his home following a long illness.

Mr. Decker served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and was Vietnam veteran. He was employed by the city of Olean in waste water department from 1972-1995. James was a member of the American Legion Post 1434 of Hinsdale and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed collecting Vietnam memorabilia and made jewelry.

Surviving is a daughter, Tammie Decker of Hinsdale and a brother, David Decker of Little Valley.

In Franklinville on October 17, 1971 he married the former Mary Preston who died March 27, 2004. Mr. Decker is also predeceased by his parents, a brother Jamie Decker and a sister Julia Dziekonski.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 11am-1pm in the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home, 7 N. Main Street, Franklinville where a short funeral service will be held at 1pm. The Rev. Mack Bixby of the Farmersville Community Church officiating. 64y
