Mrs. Margalene Morris, age 97, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Clay County and was a former resident of Tifton, GA before returning to Clay County in 1955.

She was employed as a cafeteria worker at Clay County High School and had also worked in the family owned grocery store in Mellow Valley. She was a homemaker, a member of Mellow Valley Baptist Church and a faithful Deacon's wife.

Mrs. Morris is survived by one daughter, Gwen Bailey (Mike) of Mellow Valley; one son, Rodney Morris (Wanda) of New Site; three sisters: Regina McClain of Sylacauga, Zell Blocker of Alexander City and Wyllogene Bolan (Eldridge) of Alexander City; seven grandchildren: Dwayne Bailey, Darian Bailey, Brandon Morris, Chad Morris, Kennan Hanner, Kristi Foster and Kyleigh Johnson; and eight great-grandchildren: Connor Bailey, Cade Bailey, Arianne Bailey, Austin Hanner, Tori Johnson, Kinley Johnson, Cambree Johnson and Maddie Foster and a great number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert Otto Baker and Leola Leftwich Baker; her husband, Willard Lewis Morris and two sisters: Ivilyn Johnston and Lalavaughn Grizzard.

Pallbearers will be Darian Bailey, Connor Bailey, Cade Bailey, Chad Morris, Kennan Hanner, Kevin Foster, Lee Johnson and Brandon Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Burial will be in Mellow Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
