BEVERLY E. NORDYKE, 87, "a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmoth er and friend to many," passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:30 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born Jan. 26, 1927 the daughter of Clarence and Lucile Crowell in Fort Wayne. She graduated North Side High School and while working at Lincoln Life, met her husband Robert (Bob) Nordyke. She was an extremely talented musician and accompanied both church and secular choirs. She taught piano and directed the bell choir for the Asbury United Methodist Church, all while maintaining a household and raising six children. Surviving are her daughters, Dana (Alan) Geller, Diane (Steven) Hoopengardner and Peggy (Scot) Green all of Fort Wayne; sons, Randy (Laura) Nordyke of Albion, and Robin (Rebecca) Nordyke of Winchester, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucile Crowell; husband, Bob Nordyke who died in 2012; son, Jeffrey Nordyke who died in 1976; and brothers, Richard and Jerald Crowell. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Asbury Methodist Church.
