OBIT--Mrs Rebecca E Gunnels, 73, died at 1:50 pm Tuesday, September 30 in St Edwards Hospital in Cameron. Mrs Gunnels had been a patient in the hospital here for some time. She recently returned to her home at Hanover, improved in health but was returned here recently for treatment.

Mrs Gunnels, wife of AJ Gunnels, pioneer of the Hanover and Liberty Communities in Milam County, was a native of Arkansas. She was born at Hope Arkansas on February 16, 1874. The family settled in the Hanover community many years ago. Mrs Gunnels was a member of the Methodist Church at Liberty and had been a member for the past 40 years.

The body was at the Marek-Burns Funeral Home in Cameron. Funeral services were to be held at 4:30 pm Wednesday, October 1, from the Methodist Church at Liberty with Rev Lee Lemons, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Cameron, conducting the services. The Marek-Burns Funeral Home in Cameron directing arrangements. Interment in the cemetery at Liberty.

Surviving are the following relatives; AJ Gunnels, husband; five sons, TP Gunnels, DC Gunnels, MC Gunnels, AJ Gunnels Jr, and PM Gunnels; two daughters, Mrs CB Holley and Mrs E Burleson; three brothers HH Young, Jake Young, Claude Young; one sister Mrs Lizzie Harkins; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
