"Maggie" was born the first of 12 children of Claus and Gesche (Wrieden) Ficken in the Balke Prairie area of Benton County, east of Cole Camp and West of Stover, Missouri. She married John William Hink (1870-1910) on February 26, 1894 at the home of John's parents. Two daughters, Carrie and Laura would come from this marriage, but both would die in infancy. John died November 6, 1910 and was buried next to their two daughters. She married Henry Carsten Kroenke on June 10, 1932. Henry passed away May 21, 1935. Maggie lived in the rural Cole Camp area during her young years and in the town of Cole Camp during much of her older years. Maggie was a lifelong Lutheran. She died at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia and was buried next to her husband and two daughters and near her sister and brother-in-law Katherine and William Hink in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery north of Cole Camp on Highway U.
