UXBRIDGE - James J. Racicot, 55, of Hazel Street died yesterday at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Janet L. (Chesley) Racicot; four sons, Glen H. Racicot, John J. Racicot, Dean T. Racicot, and Scott A. Racicot, all at home; two brothers, Robert Racicot of Blackstone, and Henry Racicot of Uxbridge; his mother, Rebecca M. (Gusney) of Uxbridge; three sisters, Victoria Penland of Uxbridge, Susanna Duczer in Louisiana, and Isabella Loudermilk of Paisley, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
He was employed as a millwright for 22 years at Hayward Schuster Woolen Mill in East Douglas and for the past 10 years at the Bernat Mill in Uxbridge. He also took care of the family farm, Homestead Farm, on Hazel Street.
He was a World War II/Korean War Navy veteran.
The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversay June 13.
Born in Uxbridge, he was a son of the late Francis E. Racicot.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St., Uxbridge, with the Rev. Mel Hansen, pastor of North Uxbridge Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery on Mendon Street.
Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow .
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mr. Racicot's family .
