Marilyn DenHartog was born April
13, 1931 in Sioux Center, the daughter of
Douwe and Grace (Beernink) Vander
Berg. She graduated from Sioux Center
High School in 1949 and attended Central
College in Pella and Morningside College
in Sioux City. She was an elementary
teacher for six years.

On June 12, 1951 she married Norman
DenHartog in Sioux Center.
Marilyn was an active member of
Lakeside Presbyterian Church where she
was an Elder, Deacon, chancel choir
member and participated in Presbyterian
Women. She also belonged to numerous
bridge clubs, '37 Club, Questers Club and
Chapter EP of PEO.

She enjoyed traveling and visiting
family, holiday decorating, flowers,
crafts, interior decorating and design and
entertaining family and friends.
