UXBRIDGE - Dorothy M. (Hewitt) Racicot, 71, died yesterday in St. Camillus Nursing Home, Whitinsville section of Northbridge, after a long illness.
She leaves two sons, Robert M. Racicot II of Webster and Kevin L. Racicot of Uxbridge; three daughters, Robin F. Racicot and Kathleen A. Racicot, both of Blackstone, and Jeryl L. Broman of Sturbridge; two brothers, Walter Hewitt Jr. of Uxbridge and Welcome Hewitt of Brooksville, Fla.; a sister, Janice Hewitt of Fletcher, N.C.; and nephews and nieces. She was a Gold Star Mother; a son, Alan F. Angell of Uxbridge, died in the Vietnam War in 1968. She was born in Dorchester, daughter of Walter Sr. and Florence (Bourassa) Hewitt, and lived here most of her life. She was educated in Uxbridge schools.
Mrs. Racicot was a member of Uxbridge Unitarian Church. She was a member of Uxbridge Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling and oil painting.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road. Burial will be at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Greater Milford, PO Box 122, Hopedale 01747.
