Mrs. Minta R. Pierce, 65, RFD 3 (Washington township), died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday in LaPorte's Holy Family hospital after a five-year illness.
Born in Madison, Ind., March 15, 1897, she was the daughter of William and Julia (Chasteen) Stansberry. On Nov. 8, 1914, she was married to Harry R. Pierce in Valparaiso.
She lived here since 1914. From 1956 to 1960, she was employed at Beatty Memorial hospital. She was a member of Washington Township Ladies' club.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. William (Joy) Brown, Mrs. Murray (LaVerne) Beach and Mrs. Carroll (Charlotte) Wray, all of Valparaiso; two sons, Oliver of Tucson, Ariz., and Kenneth of Valparaiso; a sister, Mrs. Jerome Weber of Wanatah; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Nazarene church. The Rev. L. E. Myers will officiate and burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call at Wetmore Funeral home from this afternoon until Tuesday noon.
