Dean was born September 23, 1928, in rural Wamego, Kansas, the son of Loran and Mary “Wilma” (Duncan) Picolet. In 1936 the family moved to Frankfort, Where Dean grew up and lived most of his younger years before residing in McFarland, Kansas. On December 21, 1952, Dean married Isabel “Becky” White in Beatrice, Nebraska. She survives of the home.
Dean loved being outdoors and working. He worked as a logger his entire life and was devoted to his work. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved playing the guitar. At the age of 54 he gave his life to the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Marvin; one sister: Dorothy and two grandchildren: John and Lysandra.
Funeral Services for Mr. Picolet will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow at the Wamego City Cemetery. A visitation for Dean will began at 10:00 a.m. prior to his service on Friday. Memorials are suggested to the Skyline Heights Christian Faith Church and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, KS, PO Box 48, 66547.
