Will:
"Know all men by these presents that I David MILLS of Elyria in the County of Loraine and State of Ohio being of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament. To my dear children this is my last and dying request not expecting to survive many days. I leave my blessing to you and each of you and wishing you to keep peace among yourselves this is the greatest blessing I can leave you. Yet, I have a little of this world's goods which I leave you and desire to have disposed of as follows to wit. I give and bequeath to each of my children or their heirs or representatives if dead an equal share of my estate both personal and real or rather of the proceeds of the same deducting the amount due from each by their notes or obligations from the amount so apportioned to each. Lastly, I ordain and apppoint Ansel MILLS of Pamelia, Jefferson County and State of New York, my dear son, as Executor of this my last Will and Testament, all of which is my last and dying request. And I further hope that you will all abide by it and harmony and brotherly love prevail among you. To Ansel MILLS I give and bequeath the power to collect all debts due me, dispose of my estate whether personal or real in such manner as he may in his judgement or opinion deem best for the legalities of this will and to pay and settle all legal claims against my estate, and as soon as practiceable pay to each his or their share. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in the presense of the Witnesses named below this Eighteenth day of June in the year of our Lord 1858. [signed] David MILLS." (Jefferson Co., NY Will Records)
