Bobby Lewter, 72, of Clayton Acres, Fayetteville, Tenn.
Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery beside his first wife, Martha Ann Lewter. Mr. Lewter died Sunday at the Lincoln Medical Center. A native of Lincoln County, Tenn., he was the son of the late Virgie Lewter Hargrave and Mr. and Mrs. John Willie Lewter. He was retired from Huntsville Hospital, where he was an X-ray lab technician for 21 years. He also worked as a technician at Lincoln Medical Center. Mr Lewter was a member of Taft Church of Christ and attended the Fayetteville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Vernell Allen Lewter; one daughter, Susan Atchley and husband, Larry, of Harvest; one son, Bill Lewter and wife, Flo, of Fayetteville; stepdaughter, Vanatta Gentry and husband, Steve, of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Jimmy Jester and wife, Susan, of Decatur, and Mike Jester and wife, Brenda, of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren, Matt Atchley, Amy Atchley, Tina Beddingfield, Mark Scivally, Carl Jester, Nicki Jester, Katie, Ty, Becky Lewter and Will Gentry; and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Lewter McLemore and Peggy Lewter Hopkins; and one brother, Daulton Lewter. Mr. Lewter was preceded in death by one sister, Italyne Lewter Holt, and two brothers, J.W. Lewter Jr. and Glen Lewter.
