Charles E. Vance, 81, of Peoria died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1991, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
Born Aug. 22, 1910, in Piatt County to Charles E. and Mary Pierce Vance, he married Helen F. Wallace on Jan. 4, 1930, in Monticello. She died Feb. 14, 1982, in Peoria. Two brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, James M. of East Peoria; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Barbara) Schwind of Springfield and Mrs. Dale (Ethel Mae) Wise of Peoria; and three sisters, Verdie Noe and Opal Gale, both of Bement, and Ida Rodgers of Mendota.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years, retiring in 1973 as a foreman in the Morton parts department.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
