Friday December 11, 1931

The remains of John Henry Allen arrived here on the 10:45 train Wednesday morning and was received by the Wallace Undertaking Company who prepared the body for burial.
Mr. Allen was 75 years, 10 months, and 18 days of age and was a retired employee of the American Railway Express Company. He served the company in Rusk for twenty-seven years and retired from duty in 1924 when he moved to Dallas where he lived until his death. He had many friends here and in Dallas who regret with sorrow to hear of his death.

Three sons and three daughters survive. They are: Messers Paul, Jack, and John Allen, and Mrs. Josephine Robinson, Mrs. Kate Connolly, and Mrs. Cora Robertson.

Interment was made in Cedar Hill Cemetery, services conducted by Rev. Robert L. Jackson, pastor of the local Methodist Church.

John Henry Allen and Josie B. (Hill) Allen were married on 28 February 1884.
