Edith E. Whitaker, 79, 218 Claypool Road, died Sunday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born near Fairmount and came to Muncie in 1931. She belonged to Trinity Memorial Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Rema Whitaker, Battle Creek, Mich.; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Whitaker, Farmland; a brother, Donald Bannister, Marion; and seven grandchildren.
Her husband, Ferrell Whitaker died in 1980. Two sons, Jack and Larry Whitaker, are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
