Born in York, he had resided in this area for many years. He was a member of the Scottsburg Methodist Church and was a past master of the Scottsburg Grange. He was employed as a bus driver at Dansville Central School until his retirement last year.
Surviving are his wife, Esther Ganiard Hettrick; four sons, Robert of Springwater, William who is serving at Goodfellow Air Force Base at San Angelo, Tex., and John and Alan at home; three daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Dantz of Conesus, Mrs. Ethel Caskey of Springwater and Mrs. Wilma Buckley of Wayland; a brother, Walter of Wyoming, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
A service was conducted Friday in the Scottsburg Methodist Church where a memorial fund has been established. Arrangements were made by the Baird-Hindle Funeral Home. (GCE, December 9, 1971, p9)
