It is thought that Alfred Brown was the eldest son of George and Susanna Green Brown. Although little is known about him or his spouse, his descendants moved to West Virginia, particularly around the Braxton County area. Some of his younger siblings stayed in Virginia. Two brothers, George Coleman Brown and Daniel Watson Brown moved westward and settled in Fulton, Illinois; his brother Joseph Brown, married Mary Ann Bartlett and moved to Missouri and his sister, Susan J. Brown, married Randolph Wilson and moved to Bartow, Georgia.
