MRS. JOHN SPENKELINK
Funeral services for Mrs. John Spenkelink, 79, of Rock Valley, were held Saturday, March 14, 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed church with the Rev. Ralph Ten Clay officiating. Mrs. John Wissink organist accompanied Gerrit Van Aartsen, soloist.
Pallbearers were Henry and Art Wildeman, Richard Oostra, Henry Vis, Bernard and John Van Aartsen. Burial was in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spenkelink died Wednesday, March 11 at the Hegg Memorial hospital following a brief illness.
Geraldine Roelofs was born on June 25, 1890 in the Netherlands, she married John Spenkelink on May 17, 1913. He preceded her in death in 1954.
She moved to Rock Valley to 1958. Survivors are a son Gary of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Martin Vander Velde of Rock valley; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two
sisters, Mrs. Leonard Wildernan, and Mrs. Henry Van Aartsen of Rock Rapids; a brother Ben Roelofs of Artesia, Calif.
