LAKE STATION -- James T. Smith, 75, a former Valparaiso resident, died Friday.
A retired welder with the Pipefitters Union of Chicago, he was a member of the First Christian Church of Lake Station.
His wife, Ida, preceded him in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Shirley McCarty of Hobart, Lucille Kozak of DeMotte,
Barbara Mills of Portage and Laura Ross of Lake Station; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services 11 a.m. Monday at Frum Funeral Home; the Rev. Geoffrey Bere officiating; burial in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso; visitation 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
