JAMES, JOSEPHINE SUMMERS 78, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, after a ten year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hearl and Esta Summers of Mansfield, Ohio; her brother Harold Summers, of Tampa, Florida; sisters Jeannette Bateman of Olathe, Kansas, Eleanor Meister of Tucson, Arizona, and Virginia Casenhiser, of Cleveland, Ohio. Josephine is survived by two sisters, Anna Drylie of Chesapeake, Virginia and Margaret Wilk of Jacksonville, Florida; sister-in-law Patria Summers, residing in Maine; and her loving husband and daughters, Lewis James and Jennifer James of Clermont, Florida, and Valerie (Jim) Rutherford, of Cape Canaveral, Florida. Having graduated from Marshall College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, she taught elementary school in Maryland and Ohio, prior to the family moving to Florida in 1981.
