Thomas G. King, 78, of De Soto, Kan., passed away July 2, 2014. Funeral services 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 820 Birch St., Eudora, Kan. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 4, with Rosary at 5:30 p.m. at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto. Graveside at Holy Family Cemetery, Eudora. Memorial contributions to Holy Family Church. Tom was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Arvonia, Kan. He graduated from Lebo High School in 1953 and married Alyce V. Studer on May 12, 1956. Tom was in the US Air Force. He worked for Western Electric and retired in 1987 then worked for De Soto School District 232 at Woodsonia Elementary. He was a Boy Scout Leader and vigil member of Order of the Arrow. He was a little league coach and the proud father of five boys and a proud grandpa of nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Alyce of the home, his sons, Ron (Lisa) King of Lawrence, Kan., Mike King of Omaha, Neb., Darrell (Brenda) King of De Soto, Ken (Linda) King of Olathe, Kan., and Gene (Sara) King of Shawnee, Kan.
