Kim Douglas Getman 54, of Baxter Springs, Kansas passed from this life on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.

Kim was born March 7, 1960 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to the union of Harold Eugene and Noma Faye (Owens) Getman. After graduating from Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1978, he went on to receive his ASE Certified Master Technician working at various jobs around the four state area. Later in life Kim enjoyed refinishing furniture and woodworking in general. He was baptized at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
Kim was preceded in death by one daughter, Skyla Wittaker; one brother Harold Getman Jr. (Doogie) and his mother, Norma Getman.

Kim is survived by one daughter, his father, Harold Getman of Baxter Springs, Kansas, one sister, Cheryl Burton and husband Carl of Baxter Springs, Kansas, two aunts, Margie Croft, and Vesta Getman and husband Lawrence; along with nieces and nephews.

Memorial graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Baxter Springs Cemetery. Pastor Jim Bowles will officiate. Family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com
