Oscar, a native of Pitt County, had lived in the Hams Crossroads community most of his life. He had worked for Greenville Equipment Company and retired as a farmer and master mechanic. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Mildred Riggs Haddock; daughters, Margie H. Bowen and husband, Glenn, of Ayden, Linda H. Singleton and husband, Frankie, of Clarks Neck, Carol H. Buck and husband, Thedie, of Greenville; sister, Marie Hardee of Greenville; brother, Grover Haddock of Grimesland; eight grandchildren, Tammy, Patty, Karen, Crystal, Starla, John Jr., Sherry and Tiffany. He was 85.
