Edna, his wife of many years, also survives, as does his son, Philip D. Tefertiller of Lockwood, Missouri. He also leave four step children, whom he accepted and provided for as his own. They are: Thom Stricklen and Rhonda Enwright of Alabama, and Randy Stricklen and Debbie Wolf of St. Charles, Missouri. Also surviving are twelve step-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Vaughn of Strafford, Missouri and three brothers; Jerry of Strafford, Missouri, Larry of Lamar, Missouri and Richard of Greenfield, Missouri.
In addition to all these, James leaves behind three uncles, four aunts, many cousins, neices, nephews and many other relatives and friends in the Greenfield, St. Charles where he lived and worked for many years; and also in Alabama, where he and Edna had moved after he retired due to his heart condition.
"Jim" as he was known to many, was a faithful and loving husband, father, son and brother, as well as a loyal and generous friend. He was a gentle man who enjoyed simple things; fishing, sight-seeing trips, going to garage sales, and swap meets, playing cards, early morning walks, or just "porch sittin'". He rarely complained of the pain and suffering he endured in recent years; he had appreciation for beauty and the Creation, and was at peace with himself and his Creator.
Although we were not ready to let him go, and we will miss him so very much, we must remember that death is not the end, it's on the end of our beginning that this life is. The next step is the beginning of a happy Forever, where we shall all meet again.
