LARRY EUGENE TEFERTILLER of Greenfield, Missouri departed this life Tuesday, May 15, 2001 in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri, USA at the age of 55 years.


Larry was born at the family home in Dade County, Missouri on June 8, 1945 to Hiram and Majorie Pearl Tefertiller. Larry spent many happy childhood days on and near his home in the country. He liked to hunt and fish with his brothers, explored all the hills, and "hollers' with them and his cousins.


Larry graduated from Greenfield School in 1963. Larry joined the U.S. Navy and served in Aviation Ordnance, leaving with an honorable discharge with the rank of ES after eight years of service. Larry made several good friends during his time in the Navy and spoke fondly of them. Larry worked in construction until leaving to work at Thorco and worked there until just a few years ago. Larry will be greatly missed by all.


He is preceded in death by his father Hiram Tefertiller and his loving mother that passed away a few weeks ago, Marjorie Pearl Drake and one brother James Hiram Tefertiller. He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Scheetz of Springfield, Missouri and Rhonda whom he lost contact with, when she was a small child; two brothers, Richard Tefertiller and his wife Nita of Greenfield, Missouri, and Jerry Tefertiller of Strafford; one sister, Mildred Vaughn and husband Robert; two grandchildren, Megan Sheetz and Mason Hacker, four aunts, Mary Thompson of Kansas City, Kansas, Marguerite McConnell of Kansas City, Missouri, Juanita Skaggs of Joplin, Missouri, and Lucille Butterworth of Greenfield, Missouri, five nephews and three nieces and a host of family and friends. We leave him in the Father's care. "Home is the sailor, Home from the Sea, and the hunter of the hills"


Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 18m 2001, at the Missouri State Veteran Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri with Pastor Bill Good officiating. Military rites by Springfield Veterans Memorial Team. Memorial contributions may be given to Disabled Americans.


Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel, in Greenfield, Missouri.

Special Note: A few days ago, Rhonda Tefertiller, the missing daughter of, Larry Tefertiller, was found in San Diego, California, and gladly welcomed by her family.


Larry was Married three times:


1) Joyce K. Barber. They were married 27 Jan. 1967 in Imperial, San Diego, CA. They had one daughter, Rhonda. They were divorced Feb. 1972.


2) Kris Greenstreet. On the Marriage Certificate her name is given as Maria Christiane Ross Leonard. They were married 29 Oct. 1972.


3) Diana K. Davis. Married 15 Oct. 1978, in Miami, Oklahoma. when Larry was 33 Years of age and Diane was 22.
