Clara Belle, was the first born child of William Bowden McConathy and Sarah Catherine Booth McConathy. She grew up in Hill County, Texas, where she met and married Charles Crawford Coolbaugh on August 18, 1895. They farmed in the Hill County area. They moved to the Courtney community, near Stanton, Martin County, Texas in 1923. Clara and Charles had nine children, Leonard E., Lizzie, Alfred C., Nora, Mary, Bertha, Charles C.,Jr., Clara and Myrtle Coolbaugh. In 1944 they retired from the farm and moved to Stanton. Following Charles' death, Clara moved to Bellmead to live with her daughter.
