Samuel Guttery/Guthrie was born in 1780 in Donegal Ireland. He was only 22 years old when he came to America arriving at New Castle Delaware in 1802. Some time shortly after he married his first wife who I believe was named Martha. They were parents of four children named William, Elizabeth, Magdalene and Samuel Jr. Magdalene was born about 1812 and Samuel Jr. was born about 1814. Magdalene married Jacob Rowe.
Samuel married as his second wife Susannah Kimmel in 1819. When she married him, he had four children to care for. Samuel and Susannah had six children of their own.
As far as I have found Samuel never used a middle initial of H.
