Susannah Kimmel Guthrie Shaffer is the daughter of Leonard Kimmel and Susannah Zimmerman Kimmel. She was born at the Glades.Sumerset County Pa.. She first married Samuel Guttery/Guthrie Feb.7th 1819in Harrison County Ohio. He had been previously married and had four children. They were parents of six children. Samuel Guthrie died in 1835 in Harrison County Ohio. After his death she bought ground in Tuscarawas County Ohio close to her sister and brother in law named Nancy Catherine and William Sadler.She married Jacob Shaffer in 1837 and he died in 1853. Jacob Shaffer had been married before also--wife may have been named Susan as is on some stones of his children.I have never found that Samuel Guthrie had a middle initial of H. any where and believe that there was two Samuel Guthrie's in Harrison County--possibly the other Samuel had a middle initial of H.
