Vangie Mary Thompson of Springville passed away on Friday, June 23, 2000 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born on August 3, 1902 in Wayne County, Kentucky to John and Martha Melinda Black Neely. She married Rathmiel Thompson on September 4, 1919 in Kentucky and he died September 3, 1995. Surviving are five son, Hobert and Don Thompson of Springville, Delmar Thompson of Owensburg, Dallas Thompson of Monroe county, and Charles Thompson of Switz City; three daughters, Pauline Coursey, Martha Phillips and Jeana Bosell all of Springville; twenty eight grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren, and forty four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Roy in 1965, Junior Paul and Freddie Thompson as infants; seven brothers and three sisters, two grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 27 at Day and Carter Mortuary with Brother Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-9 Monday.
