OBITUARY-
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Goslee Funeral Home, West Bridge street, for John Aldal, of 813 East Water street who passed away Wednesday morning last at St. Olaf hospital. Rev. Halb. J. Rasmussen of the Blooming Prairie and Red Oak Grove Lutheran churches conducted the service also at the latter church at 2 o'clock and burial was in the family lot in Red Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Aldal had been in failing health for a year but a stroke the Saturday previous rendered him in a precarious condition and he was removed to the hospital for care.
John, the son of Torkel and Julia Aldahl, was born May 15, 1873 in Udolpho township, where he attended school, completing his education at a school in St. Ansgar, Iowa. On March 7, 1911 he was married to Sophie Bolstad of Independence, Wisconsin. The family home was established in Udolpho township, later they moved to Barron, Wis., where they resided for five years, then Minnesota again drew them to this city and vicinity, with a few years spent in Owatonna.
Three children came to the Aldal home. Carl John died in March of 1919. The wife and two children survive, Torkel resides in Cass Lake, Wisconsin, and James resides in Austin. There are also two brothers, Ben and Marbo of this city; a sister, Mrs. Susie Skagen of Kent, Wash. Two uncles, Knute Aldahl of Lake Milles, Iowa, and Lars of Austin.
Mr. Aldal was a comparatively young man, being but sixty-one years old. His father died ten years ago, his mother passed away in 1930. He was a kindly man, provided for family and was a quiet, unassuming neighbor and friend.
