ERMA MARIE CRITTENDEN PETERSON
ROY - Erma Marie Crittenden Peterson, 96, passed away February 2, 2002 in Salt Lake City at the home of a daughter.
She was born October 21, 1905, in Hoytsville, Utah, a daughter of C. Herbert and Jemima Sargent Crittenden. She was the 9th of their 12 children, and the last surviving. She married Charles Elwood Peterson on March 3, 1927, in Farmington. The marriage was solemnized in 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They lived in Ogden for 20 years before moving to Roy in 1951. He passed away August 25, 1995.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a Relief Society counselor, teacher and visiting teacher. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her hobbies were quilting, needlework and gardening. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four daughters who have cared for her for the past eight years, Verla (Larry) Starkey, Kaysville; Merla (Roy) Swensen, Salt Lake City; Wilma (Don) Stewart-Medell, Roy; Coleen (Wayne) Stanger, Bountiful. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two granddaughters, one son-in-law, Robert Stewart, and her husband.
