Funeral Services For Mrs. W. W. Porter

"Funeral services for the late Mrs. W. W. Porter, formerly of Smoot, Wyo. but more recently of Salt Lake City, where she died, very suddenly last Sunday evening, were held in the Third Ward Chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Bishop Burgoyne presiding. The prayers were offered by Elders Arnold Echler and Chris Sorenson. Two quartets were rendered by Mrs. Myrtle Clark, Mrs. Joe Burgoyne, Herman Hoff and James Bruce. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Bruce each sang a solo. Very appropriate sermons were given by Bishop Clark and Pres. Rich. Bishop Burgoyne made a few concluding remarks. Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery where the grave was dedicated by E. P. Hoff. Many beautiful floral offerings were in evidence.

Mrs. Porter was born in Biel Switzerland Jan. 3, 1872 and came to Montpelier in 1890 and was married Sept. 22 to W. W. Porter. For three years they lived in various parts of Utah, then went to Star Valley where they resided till last year when they moved to Logan and last winter to Salt Lake. Besides Mr. Porter, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. Priscilla Moser of Auburn, Wyo., Austen Porter of Smoot, Mrs. Clara Hoff of Georgetown, Mrs. Della Halls of Cokeville and Miss Margaret Porter and the following brothers and sisters: Ed. and Herman Grunig, of this city, and Nounan and also Mrs. Robert Wuthrick, of Nounan, some eighteen grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was buried beside her father and mother and two older brothers, Oscar and Fred, who died a number of years ago."
