William W. Burks, 80-year old retired farmer, died at three o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Craig, Bedford Route Four, after an illness of several weeks due to complications of advanced age. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at three o'clock at the Washington Street Church of God, of which he was a member. Interment will be in the Clear Creek cemetery.

In addition to the daughter, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Charles Minks, Solsberry Route Two; Mrs. Warren Fuller of Bloomington, seven grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His wife, Minerva, preceded him in death in 1943.

Mr. Burks was a former resident of this county, living near the Monroe-Greene county line. He was born on August 13, 1865 to John T. and Sirelda Skinner Burks.
