His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He belonged to the South Roxana American Legion.
At the time of his death at Alton Memorial Hospital, Steve was 84 years, 7 months and 21 days old.
He was survived by his wife, Russola; 1 daughter; 2 grandchildren and their spouses; and 1 great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by all 11 of his siblings--5 brothers, Robert, Wendell, Neal, Kenneth and Delbert Jacoby; and 6 sisters, Faye Robinson, Mary Lovell, Helen Barr, Esther Steele, and 2 infants.
Visitation was held on 04 Oct 2007 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Illinois. Masonic Lodge 1062 rites were performed at 7 p.m. Funeral services were conducted at the funeral home at 10 a.m. the following morning.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, by made to BJC Hospice or Southwestern Illinois Dialysis Center in East Alton.
