Hugh Foresman was born in the Province of Ulster in Northern Ireland. He came to America with his parents, Robert and Jane (All) Foresman in 1766. They arrived in Philadelphia, and later settled in Mount Bethel Township, Northampton Co., PA.
Hugh married Judith Slocum in 1782 in Pennsylvania. They moved to Pickaway Co., OH by 1808. The exact year is unknown at this time. Hugh & Judith had 11 children: Robert S., Hugh Jr., John, Jonathon, Agnes (Nancy), Jane, Judith, Ruth, William, Alexander, and Mary. Late in life they moved to Green Township, Ross Co., OH near Kingston.
