She was the daughter of the late Miller Lindsay and Mary Isabell McLeod, who lost their lives in the Cleveland School fire. She was the lone survivor of her family, having lost her two brothers, Lindsay and Milton McLeod, as well as her parents.

Widow of Grover C. Anderson. She was also a member of the Camden District Heritage Foundation, the Fine Arts Center and Historic Camden, a sponsor of Friends of the Library, the local and national Humane Society, the Wildlife Federation, the Christian Children's Foundation, The Cancer Research Program, the National Federation for the Blind, and Helping Hands of Camden.
