Arthur Seth Wisner, 80, of Lodi died Monday at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Watsonville in 1909, and was raised in Lodi where he attended schools and graduated from Lodi High School.
He met Hulda Hermann in Stockton, and they married in Nevada in 1936.
Mr. Wisner learned the building trade from his father, the late E.T. Wisner and was a general building contractor all his life.
He built several local elementary schools, including George Washington School, LeRoy Nichols School, Live Oak School, Lockeford School, Thornton School and Isleton School. He also built the Bank of Rio Vista.
Mr. Wisner was a past member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #848 of Lodi and Native Sons.
He enjoyed fishing and a good story.
Mr.Wisner is survived by two sons; one brother, Clarence Wisner of Lodi; one sister, Lucille Reichenberg; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and E.T.Wisner; his wife, Hulda H. Wisner; one brother, Roy Wisner and one son, Frank A. Wisner.
