Martha Lemoine, age 94, passed away at the Valley View Nursing Home of Marksville on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
She was married to Edward P. Lemoine, Sr. for 59 years until his death in 1999.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she also enjoyed working as a nurse's aid at Valley View Nursing Home until she retired at the age of 84. Her hobbies included sewing and working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Richard Lemoine & Raymond Lemoine; husband, Edward Lemoine, Sr.; grandson, Bruce A. Lemoine; parents, George & Floresca Ducote Scallan; and also her eleven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Eddie Lemoine, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Plaucheville, Ronald Lemoine of Mansura, and Bert Lemoine and wife Elizabeth of Mansura. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Martha Lemoine of Mansura will take place at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Mansura on Monday, June 9, 2014 beginning at 2:00pm with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will be held at the Escudé Funeral Home of Mansura that morning from 8:00am until 2:00pm with a rosary at 1:00pm. Interment will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Mausoleum.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escudé Funeral Home.
