Sylvanus Bartlett was born on 18 Jan 1751, in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts, the son of Sylvanus and Martha (Wait) Bartlett. He married Sarah Loring on 12 Oct 1772, in Plymouth. They had 14 children in 23 years. He died on 1 Feb 1829, in Salisbury, Litchfield, Connecticut, having lived a long life of 78 years, and was buried there at Chapinville Cemetery.

Gravesite Details
On 19 Dec 2020, the Town Historian, Jean McMillen, reported to the Salisbury Historical Association that the stone was missing from the cemetery. It had been recorded on the WPA sponsored Hale Collection cemetery inventory in the 1930's.
