Florence Schneider Wilkinson A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence Schneider Wilkinson, 89, of Melbourne, Fla., and formerly of the Elgin and Carpentersville areas, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire. Burial will be in the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 4:15 p.m., Wednesday, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire. Born Jan. 27, 1916, in Burlington, the daughter of Henry and Marie (nee Fohrman) Seyller, she passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in Melbourne. She married Alphonse J. Schneider in 1935 and they farmed in Union, Ill. and then Whitewater, Wis., before moving to Elgin. Florence was retired from the Waltham Watch Corporation in Elgin. Following Alphonse's passing in 1961, Florence married Charles Wilkinson in 1973, and they resided in Carpentersville before moving to Florida in 1975. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, Fla., and was active in senior citizen groups at her church and in Indian Harbour Beach and Eau Gallie, Fla. Surviving are six children, Marlowe Schneider of Atlanta, Ga., Duane (Sandra) Schneider of Indialantic, Fla., Marvin (Kathleen) Schneider of Albuquerque, N.M., Jan (Kristian) Wetherbe-Glintborg of Elgin, Larry (Mary) Schneider and Jim (Bonnie) Schneider, both of Ft. Atkinson, Wis.; stepchildren, Elsie (Ralph) Ward of Elgin and Edward (Pat) Wilkinson of Arizona; stepson-in-law, Don Schultz of Elgin; 13 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandhildren; many great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Marvlyn (Sally) Seyller and Lloyd (Doris) Seyller, both of Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Alphonse and Charles; a son, Allen Schneider in 1957; stepdaughter, Doris Schultz; sisters, Lorena Reiser and Viola Devine; and brothers, Vernon and Floyd Seyller.
