Lorena E. Reiser formerly of Hampshire and Burlington

Mass of Christian burial for Lorena E. Reiser, 89, of Genoa, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson St., Hampshire. The Rev. Joseph Nicolosi will officiate.

Born Nov. 11, 1912, in Burlington, the daughter of Henry and Marie (Fohrman) Seyller, she passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at Biltmore Health Care Center, Belvidere. Burial will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Hampshire. Lorena married Edward V. Reiser on Oct. 16, 1929, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire and they lived in the Hampshire and Burlington area. Mrs. Reiser moved to Genoa in 1968 and had been employed at GTE in Genoa. She had been a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Genoa and formerly of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Hampshire. Mrs. Reiser was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters and the VFW Post #8043 Ladies Auxiliary of Hampshire. Lorena enjoyed arts and crafts, with a love of crocheting, knitting and ceramics.

Surviving are her sons, Floyd (Lois) Reiser of Marengo and Lowell "Whitey" (Arlene) Reiser of Hampshire; daughters, Leila "Sis" (Norman) Deihs of Fort Atikinson, Wis., Rita (Morris) Kiefer and Carol "Jean" (Gayland) Schendel, both of Bull Shoals, Ark., and Carolyn "Joan" (Henry) Theis of Maple Park; brothers, Marvin (Sally) Seyller and Lloyd (Doris) Seyller, both of Hamsphire; sisters, Viola Devine of Hampshire and Florence Wilkinson of Florida; 22 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1953; great-grandchildren, Jason Lichthardt and Brenda and Rebecca Pondelick. Visitation was Friday, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.
