Sharr (1910-98); Wilma (1916-2001) who married Tilman Pitcher (1912-60); Martha (1922-2016) who married Lloyd E. Sims (1913-2001); and Mary Ella Calvert (1924-2011) who married Joseph J. Snyder (1922-2010).

He married c1845, Sarah Wheeler (1823-98), daughter of Ignatius Wheeler (1795-1883), of Kentucky. Their eight children were George W. (1846-91); Sanford (1848-50); Jesse (1851-54); Leovicy Jane (1853-1936) who married Benjamin Loveall (1851-1915); Mary Frances (1855-1929); twins Robert W. (1861-65) and Ignatious M. (1861-1936); and Lovell R. Calvert (1869-1930).
