Lovell R. CALVERT, son of Nimrod and Sarah (WHEELER) CALVERT, was born in Highland Township, March 21, 1869. He departed this life May 10, 1930, at the age of sixty-one years, one month and nineteen days. He had been in poor health for eight years and the last three years he had been confined to his bed. He was ever patient and kind, and was never heard to complain of his long illness. He was very optimistic, always taking the most hopeful view and planning for the time when he would be able to work again. He joined the Baptist Church at Dugger in 1923 under Brother BANKS. He was a member of the Unity Lodge 637 I.O.O.F. of Linton for thirty-five years. He was married to Leora E. LONG, December 25, 1888, to which union two children were born. A great part of his life was spent near Linton and Dugger, but the later part of his life was spent in Highland Township. From boyhood he always won the love and esteem of all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and children, Lloyd and Leo, of Calvertville, and six grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, I. M.
