Washington Worth Steward, Jr., known as Worth, was born at Stewards Mill, Texas on February 2, 1905. He was a silent partner in many of his brothers' oil and gas ventures. For many years he and his nephew, Henry Young Steward, operated an oil leasing and title and abstract company in Fairfield. Worth married Eva Alliene Hall, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Hall and Eva Weaver in 1928. They made their home in Fairfield on West Main Street across from Fairfield High School. Washington Worth Steward, Jr. died in Fairfield on 10 November 1973.
