Elizabeth Christine Azlin Kennedy, passed away June 2, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North MS in Oxford, MS.

Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy lived in Crowder, MS during the early years of their marriage (August 2, 1947) before moving to Memphis, TN. Later, the Kennedys moved to Winona, MS and lived there for 20 years. After their children were grown, they moved to Batesville, MS where they were living at the time of her death.

Mrs. Kennedy was a member of North Winona Baptist Church and enjoyed loving on her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and swinging in the swing. Mrs. Kennedy was affectionately known to many of her children's friends as Miss 'Lil. She could get a meal on the table faster and tastier that anyone I know. No one ever left her home hungry!

Elizabeth is survived by James Verlon, her husband of sixty-six years. She is also survived by three daughters (Patricia, Joyce, and Karen), two sons (Donald and Jimmy), six sisters (Clara, Sadie, Sue, Hazel, Fay, and Betty), eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Christine Kennedy and one son, James Edward Kennedy, one sister Dorothy Nell, four brothers (Claude Lee, James Odis, Charlie David and Charles Edward), and her parents, Luther Azlin and Willie Lou King Azlin.

Dickins Funeral Home of Batesville was in charge of arrangements.
