Isabella "Belle" or "Bell" Chubbic married Andrew L. McLaughlin (later spelled McGlaughlin) about 1858. They settled in West Virginia, Andrew's home state. Andrew served in the Civil War, mustering out with a disability on November 26, 1864. The family moved to Hopewell Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania where Belle had grown up.

Andrew's birth and death dates are not known. The 1870 census records show Isabelle McGlaughlin as a widow with her 4 children, Freddie (10), John (8), Lettie (6) and May (4), living in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

The 1895 Iowa State census records show Bell, Fred C. and Lettie living in Polk County, Iowa.

The 1900 census records show Belle living with her daughter May and family (John R. Craig and children Charley, Loren, Beryl, Lois and Ralph) in both Des Moines and Bondurant, Iowa.

In the spring of 1900, Belle moved to Kalispell, Montana with her son, John, and his family. In October, the Craig's moved to Canada. At the time of her death, Belle was living with her single son, Fred, next door to John and family.
