"Mrs Mark Waterman - Mrs Gladys Aikens Waterman, 62, of Erie died on Jan 15 from uremic poisoning at the home of her son, Paul Waterman, in Los Angeles, Calif. A daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Aikens, she was born Sept 30, 1893, in Sparta Township. In 1912 she moved with her parents to Cambridge Springs, where she lived until her marriage to Mark Waterman of Erie. Mr Waterman was killed in an accident on Dec 24, 1953, while on his way to attend church services. Mrs Waterman, who attended Edinboro State Teachers College, taught school in and around Cambridge Springs and Erie. Besides her son, Paul, she leaves another son, Donald Waterman of Syracuse, NY, and two grandchildren. Burial took place in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie. Attending the funeral service were Mr and Mrs George Rose, Mr and Mrs Ivan Rose, Mr and Mrs Harry Rose, Miss Marjorie Rose of Spartansburg, W H Howard and Clair Post of Centerville."
