Formerly of Chilton, age 95. died on Sunday, December 11, 1998, at the Calumet Homestead.
She was born on August 21, 1903, in Antigo, Wis., daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Bennin) Lorenz. In infancy she moved with her parents to Evart, Mich. At age 6 she and her family moved to Burbank, Ala. After living there nine years they moved back to Chilton.
She married Clay H. Koehler on August 21, 1922, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Chilton; he preceded her in death on July 11, 1985. She worked at the Foley Aluminum Specialty Co. in Chilton. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Charlestown for many years, and she worked at Chilton Metal Products until retiring in 1978, when they moved to Beverly Hills, Fla., where they lived for 18 years until returning to Chilton.
She lived in four different states where she came to know many, many friends which she stayed in touch with over her lifetime. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Chilton, the Women's Guild, and a member of the former Missionary Society.
She enjoyed doing fancy quilt work, gardening and visiting with her many dear friends.
Survivors include a daughter. Ruby F. Aebischer of the Town of Charlestown; a son, Robert C. Koehler of the Town of Charlestown; 12 grandchildren, Denton (Ruth) Aebischer, Dyane (Dennis) Boese, Doris (Ian) Way, Debbie (Math) Schumacher, Doreen (Rick) Daun, Dee (Dan) Chafin, David Aebischer, Lloyd (Susie) Koehler, Barbara (Larry) Steudel, Larry (Susan) Koehler, Sandy (Jimi) Franczek, and Robert (Tracy) Koehler; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anita Louise McGuire of Chilton; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, John Sell of Brillion.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 1998, at Ebenezer Church, with the Rev. Jerry Schrankler officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Chilton from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services
