Mildred Mae Mosser (94) of Loveland, CO, formerly of Fort Collins, CO passed away June 1, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
The only daughter of William and Mabel (Wall) Phifer, was born December 5, 1919 in Haigler, NE. She had 7 brothers, Ed, Marlin, Everett (died serving in the Navy during World War II), John, Bill, James and Paul. Paul Phifer of Fort Collins is the only surviving brother. She is also survived by daughter Janice (Norman) Pawlowski of Brighton, her wonderful care giving son Everett "Bo" Mosser of Loveland and Chris (Kathy) Mosser of Fort Collins. A daughter, Janet Brown of Wellington preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her was step-son John Jr. She was loved by all and leaves behind a legacy of seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and their extended families. She married John Carl Mosser February 14, 1943 in Benkelman, NE He preceded her in death in 1972. They started their married life in Nebraska, but in 1955 moved the family to Fort Collins, "so their children could get the best in education." Mildred was a stay-at-home Mom, until the mid-1960s when she began working, she was a cook for Poudre R1 Food Service, later retiring as a Head Cook while working in several Colorado State University dormitories and the Student Center. She had a work ethic that would put most people to shame. It was often said "You could eat off her kitchen floor," she was a great cook, her family still carries on her tradition of making hundreds of popcorn balls at Christmas and her from scratch cinnamon rolls were out of this world. She was an avid Rockies and Broncos fan. She was the epitome of selflessness. Always concerned about everybody else, she loved to laugh and was sharp right to the very end.
